A review of the panel program of the Conference first day: Light

In the ancient times the need of illumination was satisfied using rudimental instruments, but today that the different aspects and characteristics of the modern world have invaded our lives, we need more illumination that causes light-pollution. The term of light-pollution doesn’t mean that the light is polluted, because the nature of the light is clear and positive, but the inappropriate use of lighting causes and increases the lighting pollution. The illumination must be balanced and sufficient, because the exaggerated or feeble lighting are both inacceptable. The lighting must be proportional and adapted to the spaces where it must be applied, considering its purposes and the persons that must benefit by the lighting. Considering these factors the appropriate and exact calculations and design must be applied. For the design and illumination realization of the urban buildings we need a platform of regulations that will permit us to apply a coordinated and unitary method for the design illumination of each urban situation or building.
