A review of the panel program of the Conference second day: Color

The colors haven’t an essence by their selves, but throw the human feelings and their memories, the colors begin to have a meaning to express that is transferred to other people. The concept of the color in architecture is a concept that regards the taste in general. In the Iranian artistic expressions, included the miniature, the maximized use of the colors is evident. The same consideration can be made when we talk about the art of carpet making, where in absence of an academic instruction, the use and combination of all the colors, are perfectly realized. The colors can express our human routs and originality. To give an example, we can mention the Iranians, that are considered the sons of the Desert, and in this context we see that they have opposed the rest of the colors to the colors that identify the desert, applying them in the Iranian different artistic expressions, like the art of the ceramics. Actually the most popular colors used in the Iranian society are the black, the grey and the brown. To fight and neutralize the monotonous use of limited colors, we should make a larger selection of other colors, in order to give a different and fresh view of our cities.
