A review of the panel program of the Conference third day: Sound

The reality is that meanwhile the music helps all the other artistic spheres, it doesn’t ask and receive any help from the other artistic expressions. In Iran the music is subject to a deep misunderstanding, because of the invasion of all the foreign musical expressions in the Iranian culture. We know that the hearing health and sensibility is very important, but ignoring these basic principles we continue to listen any kind of music. The basic reason of this gap is because most of the people believe that listening music is just for have a good time, and this kind of mentality has caused the loss of the traditional strong musical principles. In order to avoid and come out from this alarming situation, the first step is to define the different musical expressions. If we pay attention to the essence of the sound and to the concept of the aesthetics, we can find out the lost identity of the Iranian music, defining and stressing the differences that exist between the Iranian and world’s music.
