A brief overview

The modern art movement was the strongest against the royal conservative academy, that during the 18th and 19th centuries has seen weaken its baces. The basic mentality of modern art movement was the freedom. Bauhaus came out from the new structure of modern art and the pioneers of Bauhaus tried to edit new rules that were a product and consequence of modern art. In this context the beginning of the 20th century is the beginning of Bauhaus movement too. Pioneers like P.Klee, V.Kandinsky, W.Moris, J.Ayten and Bruner, leaded by W.Gropius, begun to edit and teach this new conception. Probably after the Gothic era it was the first time that a crucial movement of art history was founded by architects. Probably the most important vision of Bauhaus movement, was the liberation of an imposed use of exaggerated decoration, paying more attention to a targeted and structural construction mentality in different spheres of art. The basic slogan “if a product is designed to satisfy a reason of use, the beauty will automatically appear. This kind of conception causes a multidimensional and complete characteristic (decorative and structural) of art, that permits to obtain a totally unified artistic product, and in general unification in arts. To better understand the characteristics of the Bauhaus movement the presents watched a documentary film followed by a discussion about the content of the documentary and the Bauhaus.
